#100oz challenge
i’ve been participating this month in dani’s #100ozchallenge, a healthy pursuit challenge on twitter to - you guessed it - drink 100 or more ounces of water per day. of the 11 days i’ve participated, i’ve hit my goal of 100+ oz eight times. not too shabby!

divine december
another month has come and gone and i’m reminded that the title of my blog is so true - notes, quotes & anecdotes of a year fast passing. where did 2011 go and hello, 2012! i’m so excited for this year, but am so thankful for all the great changes, events and people that made 2011 such a great year. rather than recapping the entire year (because i don’t have the memory for...

lemony chicken and orzo
alright, folks, i’m not going to lie. these pictures aren’t that pretty… but the meal was really quick and easy, so don’t judge the dish by the photos. i found a variation of the recipe in cooking light, but doctored it up based on what we had in the fridge. customize your version accordingly! it’s really simple to make and since it’s a one pot meal, you...

giving thanks: october & november
apparently the fall was pretty busy for me… too busy to find enough time to post my october AND november thankful posts. i think i have an excuse for october, though. at the end of the month, i was away on the cape and i came back to a snow storm and no power (yes, again) for a week. by then, november was in full swing and now, here we are in december. either way, this was a fantastic fall,...

caprese pasta bake
well, well, well. hello, friends! sorry for my intense cooking hiatus… i made this dish so long ago, but have just been too darn lazy to blog. last night, i cooked dinner again and got a flashback of how much i miss cooking and blogging! i can’t promise the same regularity with posts, but i can promise i’ll try harder :)
this recipe was originally adapted from how sweet it is...

baby-crier over her, too, T. ironically enough, that was my reaction when asked if i wanted to go to disneyland this past spring, as well.

Suri's Burn Book: Nick Cannon told People Magazine... →
surisburnbook:
Nick Cannon told People Magazine that he will “absolutely not” allow his children with Mariah Carey, the ridiculously named Moroccan and Monroe, to be in the entertainment industry.
“I just want them to strive for something greater than entertainment. I’m one of those believers inteachers, professors, heart surgeons. That’s what I’m rooting for. If I could get a scientist,...

rewind/fast forward
a lot of my favorite bloggers do monthly recaps and it got me thinking that this is a really good way to remember all of the things you have to be grateful for and see everything you have to look forward to. also, once i’m a good girl and get back to posting recipes, i can include my favorites from the month.
without further ado…

huffpo: 10 healthy movie snacks →
okay, okay, so nothing beats movie theater popcorn, i know. but sometimes we have to compromise and i was really happy that i incorporate a good number of these suggestions from the huffington post (10 movie snacks to pack instead of buying popcorn - she forgot to say buying, but that’s what she meant…)
some of my favorites include:

groupon cat had me cracking up all morning.
i don’t know why i thought this was so funny, but the cat at the bottom of the groupon email today ($5 for $12 of mini donuts. yum! but i’ll pass.) said “your face is so smooth. did you shave with broccoli?” this made me chuckle and i was intrigued, so i clicked to read more. let me tell you… this cat’s a nut:

i remember loving the dark chocolate peanut butter from NYC restaurant peanut butter & co. last year. i had picked up a jar at my grocery store in massachusetts and enjoyed it most in a crepe or with bananas.
but recently, when browsing the aisles at christmas tree shops, i saw a whole display from the company! none of the dark chocolate variety, but i snagged a jar of “the bee’s...

true confession & pizza party!
i have become so obsessed with 30 rock & sports night on netflix that i watch liz lemon, casey mccall, dan rydell and jack donaghy every available moment and have abandoned blogging responsibilities for these shows. waste of a life, much?
anyway, aside from highly recommending either series, i’ll also do a quick summer fun blog for a party idea! we did this in june and it was a great...

hamburger slider cupcakes
a long time ago, i saw these crazy creative treats on a website and wanted to make them SO badly. i figured it would be really complicated, though, and kept putting it off. well, after my first week of work at my new job, i got word that we’d be bringing in food during the last saturday of the month. since it was memorial weekend and none of us were going to be at a cookout, i decided...

pea pesto
i feel like this recipe (yeah, yeah, originally giada) has been following me around for a year. every healthy food blog, recipe blog and friend has whipped this up and told me about it. i’ve seen pictures of the BRIGHT green appetizer, heard rave reviews and finally got around to making it. let me tell you… it lives up to the hype, too!
it’s really, really simple to make and you...

as most of you know, i’ve moved back to connecticut because of a new job opportunity. it’s been a much smoother transition than i thought it’d be, it feels great to be home and although my new job is pretty overwhelming right now, it’s still fun and i’m really grateful for the opportunity.

apple grilled cheese
i don’t know what made me decide to whip this up for dinner last night, but after a recent trip to california, i decided i love ezekiel bread and figured it deserved a special sandwich to go on top!
since i’m moving in less than a week, i also bought just enough ingredients to make grilled cheese for the week and not have to deal with many other groceries. it’s a delicious...
